VOLUNTEER OATH
As a Special Olympics volunteer:
* I promise to give of the time in my life so that Special Olympics athletes can have the time of their lives.
* I promise to support Special Olympics not just as an expression of charity, but as a form of respect for my fellow human beings.
* I promise to spread the word of volunteerism because, in giving, I receive so much more in return.

Our volunteers are individuals, groups, and families who want to help make a difference. Special Olympics is a volunteer organization which means that our Roadrunner volunteers are involved in a multitude of ways. Many volunteer for specific sports or events, while others are actively involved throughout the year.
Special Olympics offers families the opportunity to be a part of a year-round sports training and competition program which not only provides the entire family with opportunities for sports, social interaction and fun, but also serves as a much needed support system.
Everyone involved with Special Olympics Texas is a winner. While our athletes take home medals and awards, our volunteers leave with a wealth of satisfaction, having seen the expressions of joy from our athletes during competition.
